My wife has wanted one of these for a long time. she cannot wait for the weather to get better so she can use it. It does need at least two strong men to lift the chimney part , we were lucky that there were builders next door to help, but the rest was very easy to assemble. looks better then the pictures on the web site.
This is a BIG BBQ which creates a real feature on our new patio. Delivered on time and all OK. Thankfully a team of builders were on hand to put it up as some parts are heavy (but that's made clear before you purchase). Cooks very nicely and the chimney funnels away all the BBQ smells so you can wear the same clothes the next day! Only niggle is that the assembly instructions aren't that great and it took a while to figure out how the top parts slot together - hence only 4 stars (I'd give it 4.5 if I could as its not a huge issue - just took a while to figure it out!).

-
Dual purpose

-
Maintenance free
Last all weather and can simply be jet-washed or hosed-down at the end of the season
-
Long life-span
A masonry BBQ can last in excess of 20 years - it's stone finish is well built and can withstand all weather conditions.
How to build your Callow masonry BBQ
-
Step 1
Building one of the Callow Masonry BBQ is easy! All Callow BBQs are all delivered in separate sections on a pallet. These pre-built sections simply need stacking on top of each other with some adhesive to secure each piece firmly in place. The Mediterrani Masonry BBQs already come with adhesive included. For other styles like the Mussalla, Rondo or Tampere use fire proof silicone or Fire proof cement as an adhesive, which are both widely available from most DIY stores.
-
Step 2
Check over all pieces and ensure no damage has occurred in transit. This should be done as soon as you receive the pallet from the driver which is why there must be someone at home to receive the delivery in person. If there are any problems call us on 0333 090 7136.
-
Step 3
Prepare the area where the foot of the BBQ will be and excavate it to a depth of 15cm minimum, depending on the type of ground you are working with. Fill the area with gravel or stone and tamper it to form a hard base. Fill with cement to the level of the ground. Allow this to dry or cure for at least 24hrs.
-
Step 4
Now you can start to build the masonry components of your BBQ, depending on the type you choose, the lower part or the “base” will be first. Do a dry run so you can check for level and ensure that you can see how it assembles together. Once satisfied use the silicone based adhesive or a refractory cement to firmly fix the components in to place.
-
Step 5
You are now ready to assemble the firepit part of your BBQ. It is important to get the distances between the two walls correct, we recommended using your steel grills as a guide to ensuring the firewalls are the correct distance apart before applying adhesive or cement. Also check that the rear wall fits in and you familiarise yourself with the orientation of this.
-
Step 6
Now you are ready to assemble the chimney securely on to the fire pit. It is best to ensure that all of the cement or adhesive is dry before doing this and you have people around to help because of the weight. It is best to take the chimney to the height of the BBQ and slide it on from front to back. The adhesive needs to be placed onto the top of the firepit walls rather than the base of the chimney. Make sure the chimney sits nice and square on top of the fireplace.

Let customers speak for us
from 38 reviewsI love cooking outdoors with this! Fantastic product and quick service. Thanks
Not as easy to assemble as suggested, took four people to lift safely. Also invest in fire mortar to stick prices together a fireproof sealant is only needed to seal and bead once assembled. Looks great have not cooked on it yet, stainless steel hood could be a bit more sturdy.
I purchased the Musalla masonary bbq a few years ago and wanted to say what a great investment it has been. Not only does it look great it has worked brilliantly. If you decide to order one it would be a good idea to order an extra grill to keep food warm whilst cooking at a lower level. One piece of advice you will need 2-3 people to assemble as it’s heavy but well worth the little time it takes to build
When the BBQ was assembled it was fantastic and a real talking point. It was however, a much bigger task than anticipated to build it, and it requires more than 2 people to assemble.
We have not had the chance to use the BBQ Plancha Grill yet due to unexpected family illness , our son has assembled BBQ grill and the trolley for us to check for any missing items or damage but everything seems ok just 1 bent screw which we had to replace on the trolley with a nut and bolt, the hole was slightly out of line but was soon remedied with the nut and bolt. Cannot comment on use of BBQ yet but looks robust with a huge cooking area (grill) the 3 burners are a good size and I would expect the whole unit is quite easy to clean after use. I like the fact that you have the option of using 1,2 or 3 burners. The only criticism which is minor, would be that the 2 side tables would be better if they were hinged so that they can be let down for storage space., although they are a decent size for somewhere to put your spatula ,fish slice, spices and serving plates etc. One very good point is that the whole BBQ Grill lifts off the trolley easily for carrying to and from storage area. All in all very pleased with our choice after looking at several different brands and very impressed with the attention from Garden Gift Shop from start to finish.
We are delighted with the BBQ, infact better than expected. Excellent quality. Arrived on time, excellent communication from company to arrange delivery. We did not judge the size and weight of the BBQ very well - although the description advises 2-3 person to construct, it took 5 men and could have done with 2 more !.
Absolutely loving my new bbq and extras I brought from yourselves fantastic service all round to be honest
There are two parts that are approx 100KG each, the stone base and the chimney. Decide where you want it to go because it won't be moving when it's built! It took us about 2 hrs to assemble (a builder could prob have done it in half an hour). We used fire proof cement between each layer. The hardest part was the chimney as you have to lift it nearly1.2m off the ground but the two of us just about did it. We've already had 3 barbecues with it in the first week. The 70x40cm grill is a good size for the large amount of food we all get through. It cooks it much more evenly than a standard gas or charcoal BBQ as you would expect surrounded by hot, stone walls. We also used it as a chiminea type heater, ideal for our usually cool British evenings! It looks great too. (I've always wanted one of these ever since seeing them on different holidays around the Med.)

I'm really glad I waited for this to come back in stock as it is great. The delivery was interesting as we were really hoping for the driver to call us an hour before arrival however this didn't happen. Luckily my builder was working locally so came to help. The driver got the pallet up to my back gate then we opened it and took the individual bits in separately. As everyone says, they are very heavy. The builder put it together a couple of days later (you need some silicone and some fire proof cement). There is one fiddly bit which is part of the rotisserie which we haven't got to grips with yet but we will! The Barbecue draws better than any type of bbq I've had before - it is absolutely brilliant, and great that the spent ashes drop down into the tray for quick and easy cleaning and removal. It's a real feature in my garden and I recommend it 100%.
I have just completed the build of my new Rondo BBQ - it’s amazing. Cooked on it already and it cooks beautifully. The service from this company is Fantastic. I ordered an additional grille which I found I had ordered incorrectly and after a single email to this company they sent me the replacement... free of charge, no hassle. My email was late Friday pm and replacement arrived 11.00 am Monday. Absolutely brilliant service. Thank you all. Right I’m off to fire up the BBQ !
Love the product. I've owned a masonry BBQ fir a number of years and needed to replace it. Product is great and a wonderful addition to our Garden. It is heavy, so make sure that you have some fit people to assist. The middle section was a little tricky and you will need suitable cement to hold into position. The centre airflow makes it easy to light. We have attached a motorised rortisary and this works really well. I would recommend this highly, if you are looking for a feature in your garden that should provide years of outdoor cooking.
OMG WHAT A FANTASTIC PRODUCT QUALITY, VALUE FOR MONEY SO SO PLEASED ??
This is an impressive bbq and a joy to look at. But it is VERY heavy and we struggled to lift some parts. There were four of us - all at 70+ but fit and one of whom was female (me) - and I’m sure four younger and stronger men would manage it but ensure you have strong men at hand as the bbq is left kerbside which is another problem. We have a sloping upward drive so thank goodness we had a small tractor and trailer to manoeuvre the bbq to it’s final resting place. To be fair, we knew it was going to be heavy but it’s heavier than you imagine. If you have the manpower then I’m sure you’ll get a lifetime out of it.
We purchased this pizza oven and it arrived really quickly, we had questions and they were all answered promptly and with good advice. Our sons pizza party for family was perfect, pizzas cook in a minute, a really good size and we like that it’s mobile. Would definitely recommend.
