Features

  • Massive 70 x 40cm cooking area
  • Lovely Stylish Design with Modern Colours
  • High performance materials
  • Great thermal heat properties for grilling
  • Durable Finished surfaces - no additional work required

The Tampere Masonry BBQ is crafted by hand from high quality materials. Impressive design with real slate used to traditionally decorate the huge BBQ. The grill itself is a massive 70cm x 40cm in size, offering plenty of room for the biggest of BBQ Parties. The ash collection drawer, cooking grill and fire tray are made from mild steel for style and longevity. With the ash drawer you can easily remove the ash during cooking if required.

An intelli-Vent airflow system creates easy to control heat with a flue effect for easy lighting - this charcoal fired BBQ will provide endless hours of fun - and food! Wood chips or chunks can be added to the charcoal for additional flavouring.

High performance is one feature of this unit, but with high quality workmanship and stylish modern design, it will provide a lovely feature in any outdoor living space. There is also a log store at the bottom of the BBQ.

The BBQ is delivered to you on a pallet - it is easy to assemble, but there is heavy work involved. It is suggested that at least 2 people assemble it. You will require heat proof silicone or cement, available from most good DIY stores. No further work is required when assembled and the BBQ will last a lifetime.

Please do not hesitate to call if you require any further information about this popular BBQ. This item is delivered on a pallet utilising a lorry. Delivery time is generally up to 3 days but is subject to us being able to make contact with you to discuss arrangements and ensure you will be in to receive the goods.

The assembled BBQ measures - total height = 195cm; width of ground plinth = 99cm; mantelpiece width (and total width) = 112cm; max barbecue depth from front to rear = 68cm. Weight: 750kg.

Fabulous!!!

When the BBQ was assembled it was fantastic and a real talking point. It was however, a much bigger task than anticipated to build it, and it requires more than 2 people to assemble.

I absolutely love it

I'm really glad I waited for this to come back in stock as it is great. The delivery was interesting as we were really hoping for the driver to call us an hour before arrival however this didn't happen. Luckily my builder was working locally so came to help. The driver got the pallet up to my back gate then we opened it and took the individual bits in separately. As everyone says, they are very heavy. The builder put it together a couple of days later (you need some silicone and some fire proof cement). There is one fiddly bit which is part of the rotisserie which we haven't got to grips with yet but we will! The Barbecue draws better than any type of bbq I've had before - it is absolutely brilliant, and great that the spent ashes drop down into the tray for quick and easy cleaning and removal. It's a real feature in my garden and I recommend it 100%.

A heavyweight!

This is an impressive bbq and a joy to look at. But it is VERY heavy and we struggled to lift some parts. There were four of us - all at 70+ but fit and one of whom was female (me) - and I’m sure four younger and stronger men would manage it but ensure you have strong men at hand as the bbq is left kerbside which is another problem. We have a sloping upward drive so thank goodness we had a small tractor and trailer to manoeuvre the bbq to it’s final resting place. To be fair, we knew it was going to be heavy but it’s heavier than you imagine. If you have the manpower then I’m sure you’ll get a lifetime out of it.

Masonry BBQ

Fabulous..... only cooked on it once and that gets a thumbs up, a real stand out feature in my garden, like everybody else has said, it is a extremely heavy bbq, does take a few strong blokes to assemble, my husband used the ready mix black cement especially for this to seal together, then in other parts a little grouting was applied....... overall would highly recommend!!????

  • Dual purpose

A masonry BBQ can be loaded with both charcoal and wood which means it can serve as an all-round outdoor-fireplace and grill in one.

  • Maintenance free

Last all weather and can simply be jet-washed or hosed-down at the end of the season

  • Long life-span

A masonry BBQ can last in excess of 20 years - it's stone finish is well built and can withstand all weather conditions.

  • Step 1

Building one of the Callow Masonry BBQ is easy! All Callow BBQs are all delivered in separate sections on a pallet. These pre-built sections simply need stacking on top of each other with some adhesive to secure each piece firmly in place. The Mediterrani Masonry BBQs already come with adhesive included. For other styles like the Mussalla, Rondo or Tampere use fire proof silicone or Fire proof cement as an adhesive, which are both widely available from most DIY stores.

  • Step 2

Check over all pieces and ensure no damage has occurred in transit. This should be done as soon as you receive the pallet from the driver which is why there must be someone at home to receive the delivery in person. If there are any problems call us on 0333 090 7136.

  • Step 3

Prepare the area where the foot of the BBQ will be and excavate it to a depth of 15cm minimum, depending on the type of ground you are working with. Fill the area with gravel or stone and tamper it to form a hard base. Fill with cement to the level of the ground. Allow this to dry or cure for at least 24hrs.

  • Step 4

Now you can start to build the masonry components of your BBQ, depending on the type you choose, the lower part or the “base” will be first. Do a dry run so you can check for level and ensure that you can see how it assembles together. Once satisfied use the silicone based adhesive or a refractory cement to firmly fix the components in to place.

  • Step 5

You are now ready to assemble the firepit part of your BBQ. It is important to get the distances between the two walls correct, we recommended using your steel grills as a guide to ensuring the firewalls are the correct distance apart before applying adhesive or cement. Also check that the rear wall fits in and you familiarise yourself with the orientation of this.

  • Step 6

Now you are ready to assemble the chimney securely on to the fire pit. It is best to ensure that all of the cement or adhesive is dry before doing this and you have people around to help because of the weight. It is best to take the chimney to the height of the BBQ and slide it on from front to back. The adhesive needs to be placed onto the top of the firepit walls rather than the base of the chimney. Make sure the chimney sits nice and square on top of the fireplace.
